28 Days to a Healthy Heart

February 7th, 2023 by

For the Month of February Kendall Cares is challenging our employees to take one action every day for a healthier heart. This 28-day challenge will be a great way to focus on personal growth and development. It can be a great way to build positive habits and reinforce positive behaviors, which can have a lasting impact on overall wellbeing. You can join us too. Below are tips from the American Heart Assocation that you can add to your routine to stay healthy!

  1. Exercise regularly: Regular physical activity can help keep your heart and overall health in good condition. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as brisk walking, five days a week.
  2. Eat healthily: Eating a balanced diet that is low in saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol can help promote heart health. Choose lean meats and plant-based proteins and try to incorporate more fruits and vegetables daily.
  3. Keep your weight in check: Being overweight can increase your risk of developing heart disease. Maintain a healthy weight by eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly
  4. Monitor your blood pressure: High blood pressure can damage your heart. Talk to your doctor about monitoring your blood pressure and managing it through lifestyle changes and medications if needed.
  5. Don’t smoke: Smoking can increase your risk of developing heart disease. If you smoke, talk to your doctor about ways to quit.
  6. Get enough sleep: Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep can increase your risk of developing heart disease.
  7. Reduce stress: High levels of stress can lead to an increased risk of heart disease. Make time to relax and do activities that help reduce stress, such as yoga and meditation.

❤️ Please join us on Friday, February 3rd for National Wear Red Day!
