28 Days to a Healthy Heart
For the Month of February Kendall Cares is challenging our employees to take one action every day for a healthier heart. This 28-day challenge will be a great way to focus on personal growth and development. It can be a great way to build positive habits and reinforce positive behaviors, which can have a lasting impact on overall wellbeing. You can join us too. Below are tips from the American Heart Assocation that you can add to your routine to stay healthy!
- Exercise regularly: Regular physical activity can help keep your heart and overall health in good condition. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise, such as brisk walking, five days a week.
- Eat healthily: Eating a balanced diet that is low in saturated fat, trans fat, and cholesterol can help promote heart health. Choose lean meats and plant-based proteins and try to incorporate more fruits and vegetables daily.
- Keep your weight in check: Being overweight can increase your risk of developing heart disease. Maintain a healthy weight by eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly
- Monitor your blood pressure: High blood pressure can damage your heart. Talk to your doctor about monitoring your blood pressure and managing it through lifestyle changes and medications if needed.
- Don’t smoke: Smoking can increase your risk of developing heart disease. If you smoke, talk to your doctor about ways to quit.
- Get enough sleep: Aim for 7 to 8 hours of sleep every night. Lack of sleep can increase your risk of developing heart disease.
- Reduce stress: High levels of stress can lead to an increased risk of heart disease. Make time to relax and do activities that help reduce stress, such as yoga and meditation.
❤️ Please join us on Friday, February 3rd for National Wear Red Day!
